“In faithfulness to the call of Christ, Germantown United Methodist Church provides the McVay Counseling Center. We see the ministry of GUMC providing quality, affordable counseling from licensed professional counselors for members of the church as well as persons in the community. This ministry is undergirded by the belief that as persons experience pain and emotional turmoil in their lives, the church is an appropriate place to turn. The Center seeks to reach the entire community with a message of hope and healing, regardless of faith, religious preference or background.”

Our Counselors

Dewaine Rice, Director

Ed.D., LPC-MHSP, NBCCH (Fellow)

• Retired Department Chair of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research at the University of Memphis.

• Dr. Rice offers personal counseling, mental health counseling, marriage and family counseling.
He also offers clinical hypnotherapy for pain management, anxiety, phobias and panic attacks.

Catherine Null MS, LPC-MHSP

• Licensed Professional Counselor

• Ms. Null offers counseling to individuals (12 and older) and families.
In addition to anxiety and depression, she specializes in the treatment of
eating disorders, attachment trauma and pregnancy/postpartum mental health.
